DILLIGAF! It's an ART

The Art of Not Giving a F*ck Without Being a Dick!

Franni winging it with the confidence of a politician promising tax cuts

Ah, the workplace. A melting pot of personalities where the coffee is weak, and the egos are strong. Today’s topic: the quintessential office assh*le, who struts in like she owns the place, believing she's God’s gift to humanity. Let’s call her Franni.

Franni breezes into the office with all the subtlety of a marching band in a library. She’s got a swagger in her step and a chip on her shoulder, ready to take over the world… or at least this week’s team project. Before you know it, Franni’s barking orders, rearranging tasks, and generally acting like she's the second coming of Steve Jobs.

But here's the thing… Franni doesn't actually know what she's doing. Franni never evolved with the times. Oh no, she's winging it with the confidence of a politician promising tax cuts. And when the team gently suggests that maybe, just maybe, she could tone it down a notch and actually listen to other people's ideas, Franni snaps. "I don’t care about anyone else!" she bellows, as if that’s something to be proud of. Spoiler alert: it’s not.

Welcome to the world of DILLIGAF. It's an acronym for "Do I Look Like I Give A F*ck?" and it's a beautiful way of life. The true DILLIGAF master knows how to not give a f*ck while still being a decent human being. It’s about not letting the opinions of others weigh you down, but also not trampling over them like Godzilla on a bad day.

Franni under the impression that she owns the world…

Here’s where Franni gets it all wrong. She thinks DILLIGAF means bulldozing through life with no regard for anyone else’s feelings or contributions while thinking that the light that is shining is a Megawatt bulb out her Butt! But in reality, DILLIGAF is about inner peace, buddy. It’s about understanding that you can march to the beat of your own drum without stepping on everyone else’s toes.

You don’t have to care what people think about you, but you should still respect them and their views. It’s like being a rockstar without the hotel room trashing. Remember that Respect Ain't Given, It's Earned!

Imagine a world where everyone understood the true essence of DILLIGAF. Meetings would be efficient, projects would be collaborative, and Franni would be, well, a lot less annoying.

Instead of steamrolling through conversations, she'd learn to appreciate the diverse ideas around her. She’d realize that you can be confident without being cocky, assertive without being aggressive, and self-assured without being self-centered.

In the spirit of DILLIGAF, let’s raise a coffee cup to not caring what others think, while still caring about others. Here’s to being the cool, collected person who doesn’t sweat the small stuff but also doesn’t treat people like shit.

Because, at the end of the day, being a jerk is never okay, no matter how little you care about others' opinions.

So next time you encounter a Franni in your life, remember: true DILLIGAF isn’t about not giving a f*ck, it’s about giving the right fcks in the right way. And if Franni doesn’t get it, well, that’s her problem. You’ve got better things to not care about.

Cheers to living the DILLIGAF way—without being a dick!
